2025 Semester 2
-
Aroma Imran
The Quiet Storm embraces the fresh start of the immigrant experience and presents the units as blank canvases. With time, consultation and unpacking, the spaces become unique reflections of the resident.
-
Lachie Jukes
The suburban house, once imagined as a symbol of freedom and stability, now delivers debt and obligation. Instead of acting as a space for interactions and connection; life within it revolves around maintaining an asset.
-
Vinh Dao
The project proposes social housing based on indeterminate living spaces, defined only by the inhabitants. Each dwelling comprises compartments loosely divided by sliding partitions, and a central kitchen acting as the anchor of the home.
-
Kuan Ut Liang
Constructed as a lightweight multi-storey CLT structure, the design prioritises sustainability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
-
Hongyu Wang
Through spatial porosity, material warmth, and programmatic hybridity, the scheme aspires to redefine collective housing as a sustainable, participatory, and emotionally resonant model for contemporary community life.
-
Yonglin Wu
The design investigates the potential of mass timber construction in promoting sustainability and flexible design. Prefabricated CLT panels and glulam structural elements form a framework that supports modular room configurations, allowing the spaces to adapt to different typological needs and functions.
-
Jackson Killick
Polycarbonate-clad winter gardens are attached to the northern facades of each unit, appearing as later additions that conceal the utilitarian and highly glazed north wall.
-
Drea Lai Jie Ning
The project bridges two distinct housing typologies, St Georges main road and suburban prescient towards the North. The North-South dual entry creates a clear sense of movement through the site.
-
Oliver Lax
The project presents a series of homes that reimagine scenes of suburban life within Melbourne’s middle ring. The linear plan allows rooms to be flooded with fresh air and natural light through openings on all sides, embracing a sense of openness and independence.
-
Alexander Dowey
The purpose of social homes in Preston is to provide occupants with naturally ventilated flats with operable shading.
-
Izek Chng
The fracture courtyard typology features separate buildings that face inwards and create a shared courtyard. While the space is not formally defined, it is suggested through thresholds and landscaping.
