Brunswick West Housing and Wetlands

Focusing on the relationship between the internal and the external, this housing project seeks to lend itself to the landscape whilst balancing efficient, yet generously sized homes. Adaptability, flexibility and community connection are themes at the forefront of this design, evident through the coalescence of private dwelling and communal spaces and facilities.

Connection to land is of upmost importance, and thus a large emphasis has been placed on the landscape of the site. Minimising the building footprint has allowed for a generous amount of space to be dedicated to proposed wetlands, which will provide a habitat for various native bird, frog and insect species. Consequently, this site will yield a sense of home on more than simply an anthropic level.
