Beyond the Edge

Since in a densely populated urban community, neighbors are less likely to have more conversations, especially during Covid-19.

As a result, in this project, through attaching attachments to the facade, new unexpected space is created beyond the original edge of houses which provides the flexibility of public areas for neighbors to communicate even from their homes.

Clients are formed by 45% Couple (without children) + 20% Singles + 15% Nuclear family + 15 % Single parent + 5% Group living. Future consideration also includes that the majority of couples and singles will turn into families.

With facade attachments, units increase various extra spaces to ensure sunlight, ventilation, and better views and simultaneously provide shelters for privacy. More outdoor areas and multi-story design apply more indoor and outdoor activities in the shared balcony as considerations for residents who work at home under the Covid-19 situation.

With the changeable structure of fabricated attachments, clients are able to self-design their facades. More possibilities for shared greenery can be applied through these flexible plug-in attachments in sustainable materials.
