Permanence & Impermanence
The needs and desires of the individual are not static and not notion of change is an aspect of the inevitable. The home is the inanimate extension of the individual. As the occupants mind, body and soul shows evidence of growth, the architecture should mimic such.
Present day residential architecture would need to be self aware of permanence and impermanence. A framework of materialising the predictable to compensate for the unpredictability of reality.
The PERMANENT relates to designing for order, often extending to the physical: The structure, The micro-communities, and the CIrculation.
The IMPERMANENT are aspects of the non static, often including the residents or the living units themselves.
The categorisation of the permanent and impermanent is synonymous with the human anatomy: the skeleton (permanent) and its muscles (impermanent). A composition of which that allows for growth and flexibility of movement without compromising its structural integrity.
It is a solution that forges a parallel evolution of the user and the architecture; allowing the unit of the house to transcend to the notion of a home.
