Moco Housing
MOCO housing aims to explore the relationships between environment and human interactions during design processes.
This project studies the complex dynamics between nature, environment, and inhabitants.
In today’s world of increasing mobility, changing social systems, flexible new family patterns and a general demand for sustainability, MOCO promotes a new kind of housing to match these lifestyles along with architecture that has a social agenda.
This project generates a new typology of human space and networks, how human emotions, experiences, perceptions transform into these ambient interrelated spaces.
It reformulates a way of living that incorporates social networks among community members. The form development is generated by staggering various blocks on top of each other and cutting out spaces in between to be private, semi-private or public areas and orienting each area to grab maximum of northern sun and proper cross ventilation flow through the entire built form.
The community also promotes a better interaction with the street and inner courtyard spaces by providing various outdoor seating area (café’s) and decks.
The circulation in between the spaces is quite variant with two core units situated at either ends of the building block and street entrances for ease of access.
