The Computing and Software Systems major is designed for students who want to develop skills in programming and the development of digital artifacts.
Please note: Students starting from semester 1 2026 will need to complete the major and one of two computing specialisations in order to be eligible for accreditation. The major can be completed without a computing specialisation, but will not be accredited.
The major Handbook entry stipulates the complete requirements for the Computing and Software Systems major. Always use the University Handbook as your primary course planning tool.

Double Majors, Minors and Specialisations
The Bachelor of Design offers unique flexibility with the option of completing majors, minors, double majors and specialisations.
-
Computing Double Majors (prior to 2023)
-
Secondary areas of study
Secondary areas of study are a shortened sequence of subjects, taken from the existing majors in the degree.
-
Specialisations
Specialisations are a short sequence of subjects which do not form a part of an existing major that focus particular themes relevant across multiple disciplines.
