Suburban Home - Village by Creek

Village by Creek reimagines suburban social housing by preserving the human scale and fostering connections—between people, and to nature.

In close proximity to an expansive park, the design retains and builds upon the site's existing natural features. New two-storey and three-storey free-standing houses that are proportional to suburban houses are introduced in a staggered arrangement, breaking away from uniform setback frontages. This creates a harmony between built form and landscape, where a subtle boundary emerges.

The village values economic and sustainable construction based on a prefabricated 1.5m x 1.5m CLT wall anchor module. The system combines prefabrication with onsite construction to produce three housing typologies—accommodating singles, families, and the elderly, promoting a demographic diversity.

Between anchors, spaces can be congured into kitchens, private gardens, small balconies, or simply extensions of interior rooms, adapting to different needs for spatial efficiency.

Beyond the dwelling units, communal life unfolds through open, shared ground oors within each cluster. Meandering paths lead through breathing lawns and landscaped pockets, weaving together the homes, the people, and the natural setting.
