Parkside
Parkside fundamentally fosters enduring relationships between the individual, the community and the land. Providing moments to contribute to the neighborhood that resides there and connect with surrounding conditions of the thriving suburb of Hawthorn.
A project that is structurally articulated to enhance user experience within, through the use of an interlocking rigid column and beam system and light partition walls. In turn, achieving a flexible internal layout that offers agency and adaptability over its arrangement.
A combination of private outdoor space that is exclusively yours, and communal outdoor areas that advocate for social interaction, ensuring a balance of collaboration and retreat. Circulation and gallery spaces facilitate the project's social opportunity, through a merge of shared walkway, articulated building edge, voids and moveable shading devices that alter the way it is occupied.
An appreciation for the local environment through the conservation of trees, harvesting of food and rainwater, and implementation of solar panels to fuel internal activity.
A community constructed through both a physical and experiential realm, that allows unique users to combine their ideals of housing to ultimately fuel a better quality of residential life within. Whether residing in a one, two or three bedroom home, needs will be met as architects and residents share the design process.
