The Melbourne Peer Mentoring Program (MPMP) connects you with peer mentors, and a group of fellow Bachelor of Design students. Your peer mentors will provide you with personalised advice about study and engagement opportunities at the University. The MPMP is an instant social network to touch base with as you embark on your studies.
“The mentor program was extremely beneficial in that it allowed students to develop an instant connection with current students who could answer questions about the course and Uni in general. In this new environment where we have to search for answers ourselves, as opposed to the spoon-feeding back in high school, I feel it was really helpful having someone to lean on”
Massimo A, Bachelor of Design
How does it work?
Commencing Bachelor of Design (B-Des) students are matched with later-year mentors and a group of B-Des peers. Five mentoring sessions will be scheduled throughout a student’s first semester of study. Mentees can use the Chatter tab in the Peer mentoring portal to chat with their mentors and fellow B-Des group members.
How do I know who my mentors are?
Visit the Peer mentoring portal to see who your mentors are, as well as info on when your mentoring sessions are scheduled.
How do I become a mentor?
We’d love to have you join us! If you share a passion for helping your peers and have completed a minimum of 6 months in the Bachelor of Design or have continued onto your Masters after undergraduate study at UniMelb, please click here for application info.
