Academic Mentoring
Academic Mentoring provides the opportunity for Bachelor of Design students to meet, share ideas, and discuss their goals with an experienced academic. This mentoring relationship continues throughout the degree.
“From my experience, not every student feels comfortable speaking to their teachers about how they’re managing their university experience. It can feel like teachers are too busy to bother… building a relationship with a mentor can be incredibly valuable... offering students and myself opportunities to support and empathise with one another, fostering a healthy and caring academic community.”
How does it work?
At the start of each semester, students will be invited to join Academic Mentoring via email. Those interested will be asked to complete a short survey to let us know what they're most interested in. Matches will be based on survey responses.
Once matched, mentor details & meeting time slots will appear here.
If you miss the preference deadline, you can still join the program next semester.

You will receive a notification about your academic mentor via email and it will appear in the portal. You can also view information on your mentor's field of expertise and their role at the University there.
