Academic Mentoring
Academic Mentoring provides the opportunity for Bachelor of Design students to meet, share ideas, and discuss their goals with an experienced academic. This mentoring relationship continues throughout the degree.

“From my experience, not every student feels comfortable speaking to their teachers about how they’re managing their university experience. It can feel like teachers are too busy to bother… building a relationship with a mentor can be incredibly valuable... offering students and myself opportunities to support and empathise with one another, fostering a healthy and caring academic community.”
How does it work?
As you enter your second semester of the Bachelor of Design (B-Des) you are matched with an experienced academic mentor. There will be an initial meeting with your mentor then, followed by one-on-one meetings in your next three semesters of study. Meeting and mentor details can be found here.
-
You will receive a notification about your academic mentor via email and it will appear in the portal. You can also view information on your mentor's field of expertise and their role at the University there.
