SMEC 2020 Summer Internship
For 3 masters students undertaking ABPL90307 MSD Vocational Placement subject this summer/semester 1 2020.
Our internship program will provide an opportunity for one student from each discipline (Master of Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Urban Design) to work collaboratively on an innovative joint research project - Before and After: The evolution of Industrial.
The internship program will run full‐time, across three weeks, Monday to Friday from 20th January 2020 to 7th February 2020.

As part of their submission, applicants are invited to explore the research topic, relevant articles and media responses. Applicants should identify their own interest in the research topic and respond as to how they could possibly approach their research and the likely output. This project must be able to be completed within the three week intern period. SMEC will provide the opportunity for students to present their research result to the broader Studio at the end of Internship program.
Students should include a CV with their application, a folio of any University projects, drawings and/or reports, along with a cover letter outlining:
- Why they’re interested in working with SMECs Design and Planning Studio;
- Their interest in undertaking this collaborative research project;
- What skills they can bring to the project; and
- Their discipline preference.
We are looking for highly motivated students with strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
